Struggling to Get More Customers to Your Website?

Struggling to get more customers to your website?  Consider three important rules of attracting more visitors to your site.

Struggling to Get More Customers to Your WebsiteYou’ve built a beautiful website, you’ve included Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin feeds – you’ve even put up a nice YouTube video.

Still your waiting room is empty. No customers, no prospects, nobody beating down your digital doors to get some of what you sell.

What’s the problem? And more importantly… what’s the solution?

Who is Your Ideal Customer?

The first thing you need to recognize is a beautiful, well-designed website is no guarantee you will attract more customers.

Regardless of how pretty your site looks, if it doesn’t appeal to your ideal customer, he or she will never discover it and you’ll never get a chance to do business with them.

So, what’s the solution?

The Three Rules of Attraction

Get any one of these three things wrong and you may wait a long time before you see any visitors, much less paying customers, at your website.

1. Define your customer

Let’s say you’re a plumber and you want your website to help you grow your plumbing business. What we always encourage our clients to do is define their ideal customer.

Yes, you’re a plumber, but

define your customer, who is your customer, how to get more customers • Do you want to serve industrial or residential customers?

• Do you want to specialize in repair or new construction?

• Do you want to rule one zip code or will you travel widely?

• Do you want to be known as the hot water specialist, the home spa system guru or some other specialty?

My point is you need to focus.

Create your site and all online marketing activities so that the message speaks to a well-defined audience – your perfect customer.

Doing so will make you stand out from others who take a shotgun approach to their website and marketing.

It will also guarantee you the chance to get in front of those people who want your well-defined service.

2. Know your prospect’s pain/pleasure points and market to them

how to get more customers, how to excite customers, what makes your customers tick, how to increase sales, plumbers, electricians, making online advertising workPeople basically buy products or services for two reasons: to increase their pleasure or to reduce their pain or discomfort.

So your job is to thoroughly investigate and uncover your prospect’s main pain and pleasure points.

Then build every piece of your website – from its name to its articles, blog posts and any other information – to cater and speak to those issues.

Not sure what they are or how to find them?

That’s why people come to us.

Just as you’re expert as a plumber, accountant or hairdresser, we’re expert in doing just those things that will uncover that information.

We can then go on and create content for your website that speaks directly and compellingly to your prospect’s pain and pleasure points.

And gets them to take buying actions.

3. Remember: it’s all about them, not you

how to get more customers, make customers happy, increase leads, small business online advertisingWhat do I mean?

Well, look at 90% of the websites on the Web and you’ll see they spend so much time talking about themselves, what they can do, the awards they’ve won and the professional accomplishments they’ve achieved.

Wanna know a secret? Your client or customer could care less. Sorry, but that’s the way it is.

People come to your website because they want to fix a problem. Right back to what I said a moment ago. They want more of the good stuff or less of the bad stuff.

Show them – with everything from words, images and videos on your website – that you understand that and have the solution, and your business changes.

I can guarantee you, your digital waiting room will be filled with eager buyers.
